Finding carving stock

I keep my eyes wide open when driving or walking in the woods.

Harvesting wood from of recently felled and piled cherry orchard in a neighboring village.
I enjoy using my Silky Big Boy 2000 and the Ultra Accel 240.
Finding fallen spalted beech wood is rewarding if the process has not gone too far and the wood becoming punky.
My froe makes splitting the rounds easier (Alder)
Some woods split easier than others (Beech)
Some woods are a twisting adventure (apple)
